Capturing fingerprints, they way it has been usually done for the past centuries ago is by dipping your finger on an ink and pressing it on paper. It’s history dates back to the era of 1892 where the first person to ever make a criminal identification through finger print is inspector Eduardo Alvarez of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Because of this method, Alvarez was able to identify the Francisca Rojas committed a crime by murdering her sons and killing herself by cutting her own throat, while thinking she can place the blame of her crimes to somebody else.
Although Alvarez was the first to do a criminal identification of this process, this idea was actually first proposed by Henry Faulds back in 1880. Faulds wrote a letter to Charles Darwin as he explains the system of fingerprinting and asking for his assistance at the same time. Darwin at that time was not able to assist this important idea, nevertheless he told Faulds that he will forward the letter to his cousin Francis Galton.
The list went on regarding this criminal printing identification history as later in 1861 Harry Jackson became the first man to be arrested through fingerprinting identification because of stealing some billiard balls in Denmark Hill, London. Since then, fingerprinting is one of the tools being used by forensic experts in order to identify the suspects of a crimes.
Now that we are living in the 21st Century, many changes have happened and the process have evolved the the more complex to making the procedure simple for the end users to use. In our modern day and age, we have now what we can call the the live scan fingerprinting services. A method that is ink less in nature. All the participant has to do is to place his fingers on the digital pad, and electronically the captured fingerprint are transmitted to the office of the FBI or state police.
This method helps in identifying people with criminal records. Also, in companies who require to do a background check on all their employees, they would request this kind of procedure done, randomly or to all of their potential applicants in order to find an honest and loyal worker for their offices or factories.
